Williams and Umbro last partnered together for the 1987 British Grand Prix when Silverstone favourite Nigel Mansell hunted down team-mate Nelson Piquet for the race win.īut now the duo are back in business for 2021 with Umbro returning as Williams’ official kit supplier on a long-term deal. There has been plenty of change at the historic Grove outfit in recent years with new owners Dorilton Capital looking to take Williams back to where they belong towards the top of the Formula 1 pecking order.īut that is not the only fresh new look at Williams as legendary sports manufacturer Umbro are back in Formula 1 with their iconic double diamond logo. Our line-up however has also improved, replacing Nicholas Latifi with Lando Norris, who became available due to a poor season next to Daniel Riccardo.Williams have joined forces once again with kit suppliers Umbro and the official 2021 collection is available now on the F1 Store! Alpha Tauri gave Nico Hülkenberg the second seat and hope to get into the upper midfield this year, which is why I expect them to be a big challenge to outscore. Due to Honda being out of the sport now, Alpha Tauri didn't need to keep Tsunoda around, who was relegated to a reserve role this year.
#Williams f1 2021 driver#
My goal with Williams in this second season is to hopefully make the final leap into the midfield and out develop Alpha Tauri, which could be quite the challenge with their strong driver lineup. Winway Carlin F1 Team: Jehan Daruvala and Daniel Ticktum Haas F1 Team: Mick Schumacher and Pietro Fittipaldi Gulf Williams Racing: George Russell and Lando Norris Scuderia AlphaTauri: Pierre Gasly and Nico Hülkenberg McLaren F1 Team: Daniel Riccardo and Valtteri BottasĪlpine F1 Team: Fernando Alonso and Esteban OconĪston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team: Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow: Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Red Bull Racing: Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team: Lewis Hamilton and Antonio Felix Da Costa Here's a list of the team's line-ups for the second season of the save:
Mick Schumacher was able to outscore Nikita Mazepin 29 to 1 and while the Iceman was able to score a couple of points at the beginning of the year, Alfa Romeo completely fell off towards the end of the season and were by far the worst team on the grid.Īlfa Romeo moves down to F2 due to finishing last in the WCC and will be replaced by Carlin in the 2022 season. While Alpha Tauri didn't have an amazing season this year, they gave us a great battle between the rookie Tsunoda and Pierre Gasly, which was by far the closest between teammates this season. He won the 2021 Belgian Grand Prix due to a sublime strategy in mixed conditions throughout the entire race. George Russell was the man who delivered Williams their first race win since Spain 2012 and finished in an amazing P11 in the standings, comfortably in front of his teammate Nicholas Latifi.
Lando Norris, Esteban Ocon, and Lance Stroll all struggled in a competitive midfield this year and had underwhelming seasons compared to their veteran teammates, and finished further down the order. Daniel Riccardo scored one podium this year and finished best of the rest from Alonso and Sebastian Vettel. Max Verstappen is the first non-Mercedes driver to win the WDC since Sebastian Vettel in 2013! While the Red Bull was unreliable at times, the Dutchman delivered when his car wasn't falling apart, which crowned him champion of the world despite 3 DNF's! Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were also able to outperform their teammates quite comfortably and while Sainz and Perez will be happy to have finished in the Top 6, Valtteri Bottas had a horrible season when considering his long tenure with Mercedes.
